iMac27 Memory Upgrade |

I recently purchased an iMac 27 with the standard 4GB memory configuration. I wanted to upgrade its memory to the maximum 16 GB. I initially checked with Apple Store how much would it cost to get an additional 12 GB of memory. Apple Stores' price for the total 12 GB is $800. But in order to maximize the iMac's 2-memory slots configuration, I will be forced to discard its current 4G (2x2GB modules). So I really had to order four modules configured at 2x4GB per module to max it out. This would have cost me $1,200!
I did a little research on the internet and found PRO MEMORY UPGRADE company. After completing my due diligence comparison online, checking other companies as well who offer the same memory modules for Apple Macs, I decided to go with PRO MEMORY UPGRADE mainly because of their bargain price and positive testimonials/reviews on the company's web site.
It was very easy to order, the company has an efficient ordering system and shipping was even free.
I ordered for the total 16 GB memory modules (configured at 2x 4GB for each module) on Saturday (Jan. 29, 2011). I got an instant email acknowledgement of the order, followed by another email on Monday advising that my order shipped. My order arrived the following day,Tuesday. The best part is what I paid for: $231.96 (before tax or a total of $253.42 with tax) for all the four memory modules for a total of 16 GB. That is over 80% savings vs . Apple Store's for the exact type of memory upgrade.
Out of the box, the "do-it-yourself" memory swap and installation took less than 15 mins. Fired up my iMac 27 and it worked without a hitch. If I need any memory upgrade in the future (I also have a MacBook Pro, aluminum uni-body model with 4 GB, that I may upgrade to 8 GB), I will not hesitate to order it from PRO MEMORY UPGRADE. 5-star pricing, quality product and service! |

AFTER ordering 2 x 4GB of memory for my 27 inch i5 iMac from ProMemoryUpgrade, I read a few reviews of the company. I found several reviews that caused me to worry about my choice to use them. However, my worries turned out to be completely pointless. My memory was shipped faster than expected all the way to Dubai. I had absolutely no hassles what so ever. It was competitively priced and quality 3rd party memory. I will definitely use ProMemoryUpgrade again in the future. Excellent experience. |

While researching a purchase for a new iMac 27", I stumbled across someone who wrote about doing their own memory upgrade to save money. Intrigued, I began searching the internet, and found PRO Memory Upgrade. Pricing was good, the reviews I read were good, and finding what memory I needed was made easy on this site. So for about $200, I was able to buy an 8GB memory upgrade for a new iMac (bringing the total to 12GB) as well as buy memory to upgrade my MacBook Pro from 2GB to 4GB and an old iMac from 1GB to 2GB. Had I bought the extra memory for the new iMac from Apple, it would have cost me nearly $800 (and that was just for the new computer).
Ordering was simple. Shipment was quick. Emails kept me updated through the process. Inside of 1 week, I had my new memory, and it took only minutes to upgrade the computers. PRO does not offer instructions on how to do the upgrade, but this was found easily on YouTube.
I am very satisfied with the product and my experience with PRO Memory Upgrade. I have already recommended several friends to the site.
An added bonus. I was able to take the 2GB of memory from the MacBook Pro I replaced (it was only a 2 slot machine with two 1GB chips) and used it to upgrade another MacBook from 1GB to 2GB. |
